Program Description
Kaiser Permanente Northern California offers an ANCC PTAP-accredited (with distinction) 12-month new graduate RN residency across 21 medical centers spanning the Bay Area, Greater Sacramento, and the Central Valley. Residents are placed in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry inpatient units. Three cohorts are offered annually — Cohort 3 applications open July 5–7, 2026 (start date November 2, 2026). Approximately 300 residents are hired annually. The program includes evidence-based didactic curriculum, high-fidelity simulations, AI-assisted clinical judgment assessments, and mentorship from an experienced RN Clinical Coordinator.
Requirements
Active California RN license required by start date (no interim permits). BLS from AHA required. Graduate of accredited RN program within 12 months of start date. No prior paid inpatient acute-care RN experience (preferred). BSN preferred. ACLS preferred.
